RUSSIAN 210: Intermediate Russian (5)
     
Why? Completion and review of Russian grammar, emphasis on vocabulary-building and grammatical accuracy. Russian films and videotapes of current events in Russia contribute to an awareness and understanding of contemporary Russian culture and way of life.
Content: Grammar review, written vocabulary exercises, short compositions on familiar topics, and short readings. Slide presentations and majority of instruction conducted in Russian.
Format: Lecture/discussion.
Evaluation: Objective tests and exams, written homework assignments.
Prerequisites: Russian 111-112 or 4 years high school Russian.
Required for: Will count toward the LAS foreign language requirement as well as a minor in Russian.
Recommended for: Students interested in Russian and other Slavic languages and literature as well as the politics, economics, and history of Russia, Eastern and Central Europe, and/or the former Soviet Union (Commonwealth of Independent States).
What Next? Russian 224 and 225 (may be taken concurrently or Russian 224 and 505 (may also be taken concurrently).
