ECONOMICS 201: Principles of Economics I (3 credit hours)
   
Why? Provides a basic understanding of macroeconomic issues such as inflation, unemployment, interest rates, the public debt.
Content: Measurement of national income, price mechanism, theory of national income determination, money and monetary system, economic policies, growth, international economics.
Format: Lecture/discussion.
Evaluation: Objective exams, occasionally essay exams.
Required for: Students in most Business majors and Health Administration.
Recommended for: Students interested in basic knowledge in the social sciences contemporary social problems.
