ANTHROPOLOGY 101Q: Biological Anthropology (3)

Why? Human beings share many characteristics with other animals, particularly with non-human primates. These relationships are discussed both in terms of shared features, and those which are unique to human beings. When, where, how, and why these similarities and differences arose and continue is a central theme.
Content: Evolutionary theory, human and non-human primate behavior, fossil evidence of human evolution, population and Mendelian genetics, contemporary human variation.

Lab course may be taken concurrently or separately at the students discretion. (LAS Biology Lab equivalent/General Education Biological Science option for all LAS students).

Format: Lecture/discussion.
Evaluation: Objective, multiple choice questions on all exams.
Recommended for: Students interested in a basic knowledge in the natural and applied sciences.
