How Students Are
Advised
LAS Advising Center academic
advisors and paraprofessional advisors are available 49 hours
each week, year 'round for appointments with students. Faculty
members represent their colleges as advisors for their own
departments. Students who have declared a major are assigned an
advisor in their major department or advising center. Students
who are deciding on a major are assigned an advisor from the LAS
Advising Center. These advisors help students focus on developing
strategies for success and maintaining course selection
flexibility for later application to most degree requirements.
Degree-bound students should work with their assigned advisors
for the most authoritative advising possible.
